A fantastic opportunity on a 4 months contract with the possibility for an extension or a potential to go permanent. Attractive hourly rate and based in Campbelltown NSW or Mount Gravatt Queensland.

Successful candidate will need to have: WWCC (working with children check), Police check and NDIS workers check (self-funded).

About the Organisation:

The Intake and Registration Officer role is responsible for undertaking Intake and Registration services for carers accessing support provided by this not-for-profit organization across NSW and QLD service areas. The objective of the role is work with carers primarily over the phone to access information, complete the Intake and Registration process and triage calls based on carers immediate needs. The new Carer Gateway Services have been created in the context of national reforms and represents an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative carer services.

Reporting to Coordinator Intake, this role will involve:

  • Support carers with a high level of customer service ensuring carers are listened to with patience and non-judgement.
  • Provide Intake and Registration services to carers as outlined in the Carer Support Framework
  • Triage the calls effectively, providing support to carers in crisis and linking them in with further supports and/or transferring to the Emergency respite team.
  • Providing service navigation and managing appointment schedules for planning teams
  • Ensuring the service approach incorporates the following service principles: Carer Focused, Practical and Flexible, Inclusive
  • Providing a quality service which carers will find welcoming, and inclusive.
  • Develop support relationships with carers which are positive.


Ideal candidate:


We are looking for candidates with excellent communication and customer service skills and previous experience in non-for-profit/disability/aged care sector.

  • Call centre background in a similar industry is essential.
  • Good level of empathy and ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to cope in a busy call centre environment.
  • Successful candidate will need to have: WWCC (working with children check), Police check and NDIS workers check (self-funded)
