Why this role matters
Your primary focus is to conduct intake assessments for clients accessing the Southbank Crisis Accommodation facility and orient clients to their surroundings. You will be assessing the risk and needs of the clients and putting in early intervention measures while also providing essential information to them regarding their stay. You will also oversee and be responsible for the turnover of rooms at the facility. Key responsibilities include:
- Liaise with Priority List staff at Launch Housing St Kilda to coordinate client arrivals
- Conduct a thorough assessment of client support needs
- Carry out comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning
- Clearly outline service offerings and house guidelines to all new clients
- Provide a comprehensive orientation to the crisis accommodation facility
- Provide a consistent service to all presenting clients

It is expected that the successful candidate will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in client facing human services, social work or other relevant discipline, with a preference for an understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems
- High degree of initiative and analytical skills, including well-developed organisational and time-management skills
- Understanding the effect of trauma on clients and vicarious trauma on staff, and ensuring staff wellbeing and sound practices to support clients
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness
