This Xero based medium sized accounting firm with 40 + staff and 5 partners is located 2 minutes from the social hub in Paddington. They are easily accessible via public transport and have on-street parking available for you. This firm is very big in hiring the right cultural fit. They are outgoing, friendly, collaborative, vibrant and extremely positive. The client base is varied, with some very large complex groups and SME organisations, so no day will be the same. The Role:
You will be working for a very supportive and collaborative team leader who has worked their way up in the business and will mentor and support you with your career within the firm.
You will be responsible for:
- Full preparation of financial statements for companies, trust, partnerships and SMSFs
- Prepare budgets and cash flows
- Prepare tax returns for small and high turnover entities
- Prepare BAS and IAS
- Calculate Div7a, CGT, FBT, Payroll Tax, and others
- Reconciling accounts using several accounting software such as Xero, MYOB QuickBooks, etc
- Liaising with ATO
- Contributing your passion, enthusiasm, and ideas to easily accessible partners and directors
- A minimum of 2-4 years experience as a public practice accountant
- Full working rights in Australia as no visa sponsorship is available
- Proven experience in tax compliance work
- Solid understanding of tax and accounting fundamentals
- Proven experience working with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, MYOB AE, and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Willingness, drive, and enthusiasm to work in an inclusive team
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- CA/CPA Qualified or at least started
- No time sheets
- Half days on Fridays
