The School of Agriculture, Food & Wine is one of several Schools in the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and represents a world-class concentration of scientific research, education and product conferring capability, with infrastructure and resources at the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide. The successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to liaise closely with research and industry experts co-located on campus.
The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine is seeking to appoint a PhD graduate with experience in plant breeding. The successful applicant will develop a plant breeding and research program specifically in the area of soybean. Outputs from this program will lead to the commercial release of new soybean varieties that are, in the first instance, primarily adapted to the southern regions of Australia.
To be successful you will need:
- PhD in plant breeding or closely aligned discipline, or significant and appropriate industry experience
- Demonstrated practical research excellence in plant breeding
- Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated ability to write quality peer- reviewed publications and industry reports
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity, diversion and inclusion
