About the Role
You will be responsible for booking interpreters as required, coordinating and managing the bookings across all St Vincent's sites and departments. This includes liaising with the language services providers and clinical areas to ensure a cost efficient service
Ideally you will have a working knowledge of interpreter provision in healthcare, and will be familiar with Microsoft Office and skilled in accurate data entry. Excellent telephone manner and and good communication skills are vital to assist with coordinating interpreter bookings.
The hours of the role are 8.30am-4.30pm (Monday, Tuesday, Friday)
The classification for this position will be HS2 ($66,768), per annum, pro rata.
Your Contribution
- Minimum Year 12 VCE completion and relevant administrative/secretarial qualifications
- Experience working in the healthcare industry
- Experience booking interpreters for clients
- Demonstrated communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to problem-solve independently
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

Interpreter Services, Fitzroy provides interpreters to assist patients with Low English Proficency who come from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) patients to communicate with their healthcare providers. We work with all departments at St Vincent's and across all sites.
