Group Trucks Operations
Position Description
Two permeant opportunities exist within the Inventory Control and offline department within Logistics, the Primary purpose of the two positions on offer.
- Stock Control - the position supports securing the stock controls are done based on the policy requirements to secure stock accuracy.
- Storeperson - Wolf Cage, undertake despatch and warehousing activities to ensure that all incoming materials are stored, picked, transported and available for use by the production department as required.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift to load up to 6 tonnes, to move or transport stock within the warehouse and production areas.
- Ability to safely operate Pick Orders using an Order picking forklift
- Unload Shipping containers using a forklift
- Manually pick parts and load trolleys / or pallets for transport to production.
- Use a hoist/ crane to move heavy items.
- To transport picked stock to the Production facility using tow buggies/ forklifts etc.
- Operate a computer to check orders, stock availability, missing parts etc
- Follow instructions of Team Lead / Supervisor , and flexibility to support other general Warehousing duties as determined by the Team Leader and/or Supervisor.
- To ensure compliance with VGA's Environmental Policy, ISO9000 standards, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. To take all reasonable steps and precautions to protect our workplace, employees, and our environment.
- Current licence as per job role allocation (LF and LO), submit copy of Licence with application.
- Basic numeracy/ literacy skills, Tested as part of application process
- Basic computer skills and/or a willingness to learn
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions & procedures
- Ability to create transport assignments from goods receiving to the warehouse.
- Do cycle count adjustments and investigations when there are discrepancies
- Assist in the process of locating of new stock
- Action stock discrepancies.
- Other duties/ responsibilities relative to the improvement of inventory as directed

- Skills in the goods receiving/ replenishment and identification processes for being able to troubleshoot and solve problems/issues in these areas
- Skills in warehouse management for setting up the warehouse effectively and continuous refinements in the storage area.
- Good knowledge regarding transportations both in warehouse area and the dispatch area.
- Know when transports are created and why.
- Knowledge in the inspection material process is good to have to understand when material is
- requested to inspection and coming back from inspection.
- This role requires skills in troubleshooting problems that can occur in this area.
