- Manage Zoos Victoria's field programs for invertebrate conservation.
- Work with partners to plan, develop and implement new conservation programs for invertebrates.
- Champion the importance of invertebrates through awareness raising and provision of expert advice.
- Based at Melbourne Zoo in Parkville with work from home flexibility.
- Fixed term full time position from January 2022 - January 2024 (with possibility for extension).
- Salary - Band 5, starting from $97,575 per annum + 10.5% superannuation.
We have a strong focus on preventing extinction and promoting recovery of Victoria's most threatened vertebrates. In recent years, we have also started expanding our efforts to support and undertake invertebrate conservation. This position will sit within the Wildlife Conservation and Science team, lead some of our existing field invertebrate conservation programs, as well as guide and help implement Zoo's Victoria's future involvement and investment in invertebrate conservation. These activities will be undertaken in close collaboration with existing and new partners.
Key skills and knowledge required for this role will include:
- Good knowledge of invertebrate biology and conservation issues.
- Strong planning, project management, and communication skills.
- Well-developed partnership management and development skills.
