About the Risk, Investigations, Security Customer Compliance Team (RISCC)
As an Investigations and Customer Compliance Officer you will undertake, implement, and support all compliance investigation and enforcement services within the Water and Waste Directorate, according to City of Gold Coast policies, procedures and legislative requirements for accessing and connecting to water and sewerage infrastructure.
You will assist with the delivery of security framework including audits and assist with implementing Incident Management protocols when an unplanned Incident occurs within the business. You will utilise a multi-faceted scaled approach to Incident Management and will provide administrative and operational support.
The position will also be expected to update processes and procedures, provide expert advice on Compliance, Security and Incident Management, keep stakeholders informed whilst managing their expectations and provide administrative support.
Key Deliverables
Commitment to achievement of zero harm to staff and the community.
Provide technical advice on compliance programs, functions, policies, legislation, and procedures to a wide range of customers.
Implement the Recycled Water Tanker compliance program to meet the Water and Waste standards, environmental, public health and workplace health and safety obligations.
Develop and update policies, procedures, and written guidance material
Ensure all compliance related activities are completed and outcomes can be substantiated using data, records, and reports.
Develop, optimise, document and review procedures and work instructions related to investigations, evidence collection, communication and report writing.
Exercise sound judgement and display initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity in the performance of duties and work effectively as a member of the team.
Conduct proactive asset security reviews and provide a report detailing security improvement/s.
Conduct inspections to verify lock installations.
Capture and disseminate actions relating to security, safety and investigations.
Undertake investigations to gather evidence, conducting records of interview, prepare documentation (e.g. recoverable works, remedial works, Show Cause, Warning and Infringement Notices).
Conduct compliance activities, including investigations, site and desktop audits, surveillance, and covert activities.
What You Bring to Your New Role
You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective, concise, integrated, and credible responses to key issues affecting compliance matters.
You have high level report writing skills, with the ability to analyse, develop, administer, and understand complex issues, legislation, policies and procedures to achieve outcomes.
You have demonstrated experience in the management of compliance matters and/or in conducting investigations.
You are experienced and competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Pathway and mapping software (ArcGIS).
You deliver quality service to customers and understand and react responsively to expectations.
You are committed to modelling positive behaviours, adept to managing change and continuing professional development.
Develops innovative solutions to complex problems by analysing and managing emerging issues.

You will have experience in Investigations, Compliance and/or Incident Management. You are a 'can do' person, who is flexible and thrives on having no day the same. You are equally adept at working in an office environment, updating and developing processes, to conducting a security inspection at a Waste and Recycling Centre. You build good working relationships and are comfortable making recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. You have a keen eye for detail and appreciate the need for accurate reports and reporting.
