About the role

The IT Contract Governance Manager is responsible for building and managing mutually beneficial partnerships with technology vendors to optimise value, measure performance, mitigate vendor risks, and drive innovative solutions and ways of working with Optus IT whilst ensuring all domain contracts and their lifecycles are managed and governed according to the Optus procurement and legal policies.

This role also would be the central link between the IT Domain and other Optus functions such as Optus Procurement, Optus Legal, Optus Risk on all matters relating to Domain contracts

This role further oversees the delivery of Application services from internal and external suppliers to ensure seamless, end-to-end service delivery.
  • Demand Management: business and IT requirements, requirements prioritization, business expectation management
  • Relationship Management: vendor management, business, IT and provider alignment, executive ownership
  • Performance Management: vendor quality control, continuous improvement, sustainable business growth
  • Risk Management: vendor service continuity, security, compliance
  • Establish Measures of operational performance that directly impact customer experience, determined by analysis of our internal systems.
About you
  • Post Graduate Degree in Finance, IT, management, computer science, electronic or computer engineering fields
  • Experience in managing contracts in one or more technology categories, including software, services and communications
  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a proven capacity to develop and maintain client relationships at a senior level
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large scale sourcing agreements and commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing systems, frameworks, policies and processes to support operational needs related to procurement and vendor management
  • Extensive experience at a senior management level in financial/resource management, strategic planning, policy development and performance monitoring, preferably in a shared services environment.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and strong vendor management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to liaise effectively with other internal /external Optus departments
  • A positive attitude towards change and recognition that it is continuous and a willingness to be a champion of change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, including a proven capacity to consult widely and actively influence key decisions at an executive level in order to achieve key outcomes.
  • Ability to explain and present complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
  • Cloud competency including knowledge and experience with various Marketplaces.
  • Knowledge of one or more business reporting tools like Power BI
  • In depth knowledge of AWS billing and invoicing.
