Return-It was launched in 2018 to focus on making recycling simple, accessible, and rewarding within Container Deposit Schemes. A part of Re Group, an Australian owned company, focused on providing solutions for recycling and recovery of resources from waste.
Based in Melbourne, we are looking for an experienced IT manager who can oversee a complete suite of operational systems. Your role will be to manage internal and external resources to develop, maintain and support the core systems that drive our operations, to support internal users and help Australians get cash for their containers.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and manage a team providing technical support across the company
- Support and guide development for our bespoke applications and off-the-shelf technologies for the counting of containers, customer payment, and tracking of our operations
- Triage issues, prioritise upgrades and help make the best use of our external support and developers
- Automate the day-to-day monitoring of our systems – can you see problems coming before they impact operations?
- Investigate patterns and implement corrective actions to improve the overall system
- Focus on the day-to-day IT needs of the business and teams
- Improve robustness and/or efficiency of operational reports and processes
- You have strong interpersonal skills
- You can work autonomously and as part of a team
- You have excellent customer service skills
- You have strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Previous working experience in IT management
- Relevant Degree or equivalent qualifications
- Managing IT technicians
- Experience with supporting relevant software systems; for example:
- o Container deposit/return point systems, such as Reverse Vending Machines or other specialist equipment;
- o Retail and customer-facing systems, such as Point of Sale Software, , Customer Account systems, Payment systems; and/or
- o Support systems, such as Help Desk, Remote Management, Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting systems
- Experience in managing systems with many interfacing systems and connectors
- Specification, procurement, installation and configuration for computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
- Documenting business requirements for application development
- Experience with Windows, Linux, Azure, Powershell and/or SQL.
