About the role and team

We have a newly created opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Technology team. The Technology team at Hall & Wilcox has approximately 17 team members nationally structured across infrastructure, development, application support, information security and service desk.

The IT Project Manager will work closely with the Director - Technology, the broader Technology team and other stakeholders to effectively plan and manage technology projects end to end.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• leading and managing end to end technology projects including:
  • defining project objectives, scope and deliveries in collaboration with the Director - Technology and internal stakeholders.
  • developing and maintaining detailed project plans, action lists, budgets and resource and task allocations.
  • resource allocation;
  • adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project;  
  • monitoring progress of key deliverables, identify and resolving issues as they arise;
  • scheduling project meetings and taking project meeting minutes;
  • communicating project status and updates to internal stakeholders;
  • monitoring scope changes, resourcing issues and risks;
• implementing project management principles and tools to help deliver successful project outcomes;
• adhering to change management frameworks
• implementing change management controls and tools;
• identifying project opportunities; and
• drafting periodic project reports for management meetings.

Skills and experience

We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline;
• project management qualification (PMP, Prince2)
• minimum two years’ experience in IT project management delivering projects end to end;
• strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools;
• strong change management skills;
• strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects;
• excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• ability to work collaboratively and independently; and
• proficient in at least one project management tool (MS Project, Trello, Jira).
