- Gather and document business requirements to ensure that an appropriate solution can be developed to meet the business need
- Create automated unit test cases to provide regression testing of the code
- Create automated integration test cases to provide regression testing of the solution
- Create test plans and execute manual testing to ensure the quality and integrity of software when automatic testing is insufficient
- Complete tasks meeting business requirements within the expected and agreed timeframes to ensure that business value is continuously delivered
- Complete peer reviews of code for other developers to share knowledge, verify secure coding practices, and improve quality
- Design and document APIs, applications, and solutions to ensure that knowledge remains available and is not lost
- Support software running in production to ensure continuity of service to customers and staff
- Participate in on-call support roster to ensure that major issues after hours are promptly resolved
- Effectively liaises with stakeholders in relation to the design, development, and release of new and modified software
- Proven knowledge in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/Docker/Openshift
- Competent knowledge in Java and common libraries and frameworks
- Basic knowledge in unit test automation frameworks and libraries
- Basic knowledge in source code management tools and build tools
- Apache ActiveMQ (AMQ)
- One to five years professional Java development experience
- Competent understanding of Java and API security practices
- Proficient understanding of integration patterns and object oriented design patterns, programming principles, and techniques
- Experience building RESTful API endpoints
- Experience working within an agile, cross-functional team
- Competent knowledge in Java and common libraries and frameworks
- Competent knowledge in Java spring boot framework
