Job description

The position provides comprehensive day to day medical service to all patients of the Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals. The appointee may also be rotated by negotiation to Redcliffe Hospital, and/or the Prince Charles Hospital, Brighton Sub-Acute and residential care service and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. The Medical Officer will maximise professional development with a view to independent practice. Assistance with the teaching of students is an important adjunct to this position.

About the Role

  • To provide general medical services for inpatients of the Metro North Hospital and Health Service. These services are expected to be of a quality consistent with the ethics and standards of both the medical profession and the community at large, including the keeping of adequate medical records and the provision of appropriate discharge information.
  • To interview, examine and identify clinical problems in patients and to plan overall clinical care.
  • To initiate and maintain clinical care of patients.
  • To document progress by regular observation, review and organisation of data. To ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are maintained and completed in a timely fashion.
