Form of work We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer (2-4 years PQE) to join the legal team in Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services group. This role supports the Middle Market team who sit within the Business Banking division and you will play a key role in ensuring that legal risk is effectively managed in its lending business.
The role involves providing legal advice and transaction support to the team on a large and complex acquisition and leveraged finance transactions for business borrowers which require bespoke legal arrangements.
You will work closely with the business and credit teams in preparing term sheets, conducting borrower due diligence and working with external counsel to finalise loan and security documentation.
To be successful in applying for this role you will:
have experience in acquisition and leveraged finance;
have excellent drafting and negotiation skills and an ability to make sound commercial decisions;
be an attentive risk manager with an ability to understand risks specific to various industry segments;
enjoy working independently yet demonstrate the flexibility to work well in a team;
have the ability to manage competing priorities in an efficient and timely manner;
have strong written and oral communication skills;
be committed to continuously evolving your legal skills and industry knowledge to ensure delivery of highest quality legal support to the business; and
be collaborative, driven and curious.
