Job description

Help us deliver like never before

Australia Post is delivering like never before. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.

About the opportunity

Australia Post is rolling out new maintenance software across its Fleet in the form of FleetMEX. This new software provides recording capability of all work performed, scheduling of upcoming work and payments integrating with our financial SAP system. Effective delivery of MEX will provide AP the ability to track all vehicle service, eliminate unnecessary paper documentation and drive effective cost reduction while focusing on improved quality of service and vehicle performance. MEX software provides a central repository for the full life cycle of our vehicles.

Effective rollout of MEX will require training and development of our key operational staff, our fleet personnel, and the larger Service Partner group – covering all our mechanics who work on our fleet (+25,000 vehicles) and keep them operational throughout the year.

This role is designed to provide SQL admin support to the team in its rollout and implementation of this new software. This is a 12-month opportunity and requires someone with strong experience writing SQL queries, who is willing to learn a new system (FleetMEX) and is team orientated.

You’ll also

•    Assist in the development and running of MEX and ensuring the structure of MEX setup provides efficiency for the business and aligns well with accompanying software integrations.

•    Provide SQL support in the development of MEX reports.

•    Provide support throughout the deployment of MEX covering pilot, trials and then the national rollout.

•    Identify, gather the facts, analyse, and resolve complex business problems.

•    Influence stakeholders: understand first, present options for consideration then provide targeted communications to aid in the change management process.

•    Drive analysis and insights to identify areas where efficiencies can be made in Processing/Delivery.

•    Understand the capability of the MEX program, explore ways of delivering a great user-experience for users (operational staff, fleet teams and external mechanics) while meeting the expectations.

•    Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas to individuals and groups; communicate in a focused and compelling way that captures and holds others’ attention.

•    Work effectively and cooperatively with others; establish and maintain good working relationships both within the organisation and among our external service partner network.

•    May be required to travel interstate when needed.

You’ll ideally have

•    Experience writing SQL queries to extract information from tables/databases

•    Ability to customize and build reports aimed at interpreting required information in a simple manner.

•    Ability to identify and work closely with departments both in the planning phase and during program rollout.

•     A strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and prioritise work of greatest importance.

•    Ability to Balance delivery of standardisation and efficiency objectives/initiatives, whilst maintaining service levels and customer satisfaction.

•    Detailed SQL language

•    Some knowledge of SAP ERP advantageous

•    Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
