Job description

About Everyday Independence
With over 40 hubs across Australia, Everyday Independence is a dynamic organisation committed to changing the game for people with disabilities. Working in the social and early childhood Key Worker models, our united team of talented change-makers is on a mission to make inclusion possible for all Australians.

About The Role
We are looking for a Key Worker to deliver interventions to NDIS participants (specifically children aged 0-8) and their families that lead to positive, life-changing outcomes in Central Coast and surrounding areas.

This position is full-time or part-time (4 days per week).

Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments is essential, as this is the most highly requested time for Key Workers to provide therapy to their participants.

Your Everyday
As a Key Worker at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:

  • Working in the social model means you’ll work and deliver therapy in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, and community centres
  • Attended a family’s home to conduct their initial appointment, utilizing your assessment and communication skills to get to know them, their child and goals
  • Worked collaboratively with a kinder teacher at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
  • Coached parents through finding a school that best suits their young child’s needs
  • Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
  • Built meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
  • Documented, and billed for, each session through our online participant management system
  • Provided support for a 5-year-old after school so that they can establish consistent routines
  • Attended the weekly team meeting in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
  • You’ll have met with your Team Leader and Therapy Mentor to tap into their clinical knowledge and/or support
  • Dropped into an online mentoring session to build knowledge of using Assistive Technology with a participant and some tips to introduce some behavioral support strategies
What We Offer
  • Continuous Learning: Guidance and support provided by industry-leading early childhood clinicians and allied health practitioners to help you excel.
  • Competitive Salary Package: Attractive remuneration, plus additional benefits such as vehicle options, laptop, phone, and performance and loyalty bonuses.
  • Flexible Working Options: Enjoy calendar control and create a week that works for you.
  • Opportunities for Growth: Growth opportunities are endless! Explore clinical mentoring/education or operational leadership career pathways.
  • Supportive Environment: Dedicated operational, clinical and admin support so you can focus on what you do best. Work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with experts in the field.
  • Everyday Perks: We offer a range of additional perks including pet-friendly hubs, in-house career coaching, professional development budget, wellbeing days, paid parental leave, regular social events and access to confidential counselling services through our Employee Assistance Program.

Who We Are Looking For
At Everyday Independence, our team thrives on shared values and a collaborative spirit. We're on the lookout for individuals who resonate with our values and can seamlessly integrate into our dynamic environment.

To work as a Key Worker, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and registration.

  • If you are an Occupational Therapist, you will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
  • If you are a Physiotherapist, you will have a degree in Physiotherapy and AHPRA registration
  • If you are a Speech Pathologist, you will have a degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration
  • If you are an Educator, you will have a degree in Education and hold full teaching registration with the relevant state education authority
You will also need:
  • Minimum 12 months experience working with working with children (aged 0-8) and their families
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with disability
  • A positive and flexible approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and be a team player
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth
  • A valid Australian drivers license
