AddressAs our new KIOSC (Knox Innovation Opportunity & Sustainability Centre) Lab technical officer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a range of science programs designed to equip mainly secondary school students for success in the rapidly changing world of work.
You will be required to implement industry best practice and apply current learning technologies and support contemporary learning pedagogies within specific requirements. The KIOSC Lab technical officer will work on a fixed term to deliver science based training to students within the KIOSC project.
The KIOSC Lab technical officer will report directly to the Project Leader, KIOSC and work with the KIOSC Director and Swinburne staff to achieve successful project outcomes. The KIOSC Lab technical officer will exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with staff, students and other stakeholders
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Lab technician qualification or equivalent experience or experience in the field with relevant science based or vocational qualification
- Demonstrated understanding of how students learn, and the ability to design and implement innovative science based programs aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and the Principles of Learning and Teaching P-12.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop constructive relationships with colleagues, parents and the wider community to continuously improve the student experience of KIOSC.
Qualifications
- Completion of a relevant science degree (Biotechnology or Biochemistry) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
