The Role

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the routine analytical and laboratory oil sample testing in support of the food safety quality and operational teams. You will perform routine analysis of product testing, documenting results and communicating with site teams on results. Receiving raw and finished materials you will work to tight timeframes to process and communicate results, ensuring samples are received on schedule. This hands-on role requires experience with handling glass and chemicals with an ability to communicate and problem solve effectively.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Complete all analysis requirements with accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of laboratory daily production reports, weekly load out reports and monthly reports
  • Investigate nonconformance to plant and customer specifications and advise on technical problems
  • Communicate effectively with site-based teams and ensure timeframes are met
Qualifications & Skills
  • TAFE / Science / Food Science / Chemistry related discipline
  • Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process and final products independently
  • Hands on experience of using glassware and chemicals in a laboratory
  • Good knowledge on food safety, ISO, QA/QC
  • Laboratory procedures for testing raw materials and product quality and hygiene practices
  • Interpret and document results of tests into active databases and communicate results to internal customers as required
