Band 6 - $87,590 - $95,340 yearly, plus 11% statutory superannuation
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Natural Environment & Parks Business team at our Sale Depot. We are looking for an adaptable and flexible applicant to actively participate within the team to ensure our land management services are always achieved.
What your day looks like:
- Manage and coordinate Council’s natural resource management programs including vegetation management, weed and animal pest control, fuel and fire hazard reduction, minor capital works, and contractor management.
- Assist in the operational and strategic development of the business unit relating to Natural Resources and environmental sustainability.
- Look after the daily administrative tasks including responding to customer requests, providing on-call support to staff, OH&S reporting, invoicing, rostering, and works scheduling.
- Relevant qualification in environmental science, forestry, natural resource management (or related field)
- Demonstrated experience in Land and Natural resource management techniques, practices, and trends.
- Previous experience in maintenance planning, managing contracts and contractors, and local government is desirable.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of staff, contractors, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles of Occupational Health and Safety policy and legislative requirements relevant to the position.
- The ability to obtain and maintain the following tickets/certificates:
- Current drivers’ licence
- Chemical Users
- Implement a Traffic Management Plan
- Operate and Maintain Chainsaw (Level 1)
- Vehicle Loading Crane and Lifting Gear
- Front End Loader Plant Assessment/Conduct Wheel Loader Operations
