What are we looking for?
Our prestigious Class Actions practice group in Melbourne is expanding and we are looking for experienced lawyers to join the team.
These roles represent a rare opportunity for proactive, passionate and results driven individuals to work within one of our most experienced and highly respected practice groups, and for a company that has a clear sense of purpose within the Australian legal industry.
You can expect to have responsibility for managing the day-to-day conduct of a least one class action and will work in one of Australia’s most dynamic and determined litigation teams.
Critical to your success will be your ability to identify and coordinate future Class Actions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day management of a busy class action
Supervision, coaching and knowledge sharing opportunities with junior and support staff
Continually exploring new opportunities for the practice
Forging and building strong client relationships
What will you bring?
You will have a proven ability in using your exceptional analytical and communication skills to achieve great litigation outcomes.
In addition, you will have previously taken responsibility in running complex litigation. Your
background will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and ownership.
The following skills, experience and attributes will ensure your ongoing success:
Tertiary qualifications in Law and hold a current Practicing Certificate
Previous experience in Class Actions or complex/large-scale litigation, particularly in case management, client engagement, briefing experts and discovery
Excellent technical legal and analytical skills
Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management, and working as part of a team
Ability to listen, exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously
