- Due to growth funding, we are seeking several Lawyers (unrestricted) to join our growing team at Circle Green Community Legal.
- Full-time (2 FTE) positions for unrestricted Lawyers, preferably with experience in residential tenancy law.
- Salary $89,041-$93,071 plus superannuation, additional end of year paid leave, generous salary sacrifice provisions and excellent employee conditions.

About the Role
The Position – Lawyer (unrestricted) (Level 5)
You will be providing comprehensive legal advice, further assistance, representation, community legal education and training, and law reform under the supervision of the Principal Lawyer. You will also be involved in the direct supervision and management of lawyers (restricted), advocates, law graduates, secondees, and volunteers.
Responsibilities include:
Legal Supervision
Includes supporting supervision and training of lawyers (restricted), advocates, secondees, intake and triage teams, and volunteers. Review intake processes and file review.
Client Work
Includes providing legal advice, information, referral, procedural support and compliance to clients. Being an ongoing point of contact and liaison for existing clients, providing information, and assisting with arrangements for further service delivery in consultation with the Principal Lawyer. Working with an interpreter. Providing duty lawyer services. File review, closure and research.
Strategic Legal Review and Advocacy
Includes ensuring appropriate compliance of guidelines and policies. Identifying future legal needs. Contributing to law reform and policy change.
Community Legal Education
Includes developing, promoting, facilitating and presenting community legal education initiatives and professional development training in the area of tenancy law. Developing resources and fact sheets.

We are seeking an energetic, confident individual who enjoys a challenge and is interested in making a significant difference to the lives of the people we work with to join our Tenancy team. We are seeking two unrestricted lawyers on a full-time (1FTE) basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique specialist community legal centre in the access to justice / social justice space.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications
- Law degree.
- Admitted, or eligible for admission, as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and eligible to hold an unrestricted WA practising certificate.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey complex concepts to people from diverse social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Ability to effectively time manage a high and diverse workload.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be an effective team member.
- Experience supervising junior lawyers, paralegals, students and volunteers in the delivery of legal services.
- Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to human rights and social justice issues.
Desirable
- Experience in relevant area of law
Successful applicants will also need a current Full Australian Driver’s License, and a satisfactory National Police Check.
