Activities contributing to the design and development of products. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. An exploratory mind-set is required.

Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Analytical Scientist will support the Imaging Research and Development teams. The role will provide scientific expertise in chromatography, method development, and documentation to GLP and GMP standards. The role will support Imaging R&D's portfolio during early to late stage development phase and life cycle management of existing products. The Lead Analytical Scientist will work in a cross-functional matrix and with external and internal labs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • To provide analytical expertise in the development, validation and application of chromatography methods, especially HPLC.
  • Assess complex analytical challenges. Suggest right technology for the problems at hand.
  • The role will be engaged in hands-on work in the laboratory, but some follow-up of external partners will occur.
  • Be responsible for coordination of analytical activities
  • Actively participate in project team meetings, report project progress to project leaders and line manager, provide written technical reports as required.
  • Produce suitable scientific reports & documentation to support regulatory documentation packages
  • We will look for a person with hands-on experience of additional analytical techniques, and with the ability of multitasking.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or Organic Chemistry with extended experience of analytical chemistry. Experience with development of chromatography methods by HPLC is essential.

  • Customer focused, be able to build strong relationships with internal and external parties
  • Ability to lead projects conducted by 3rd parties.
  • Search for new ideas and change initiatives. Deals with ambiguity and making positive use of the opportunities it presents.
  • Fluent in English, and preferably Norwegian.
  • Experienced in standard office tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

Desired Characteristics/Skills

  • An exploratory mindset. Able to find identify new solutions to complex analytical challenges.
  • Ability to work with documentation under GMP regulations.
  • Hands-on experience of other analytical methods, such as MS, ICP, NMR, IR, Spectroscopy
  • Competency in structured experimental design and chemometrics
  • Experience in analytical work from GMP or accredited laboratory.
  • Knowledge in requirements for analytical methods across the develop phases of drugs
