About the role

You as the Lead Software Engineer, are responsible for analysis, architecture, development, delivery and support of new and existing software applications.

You take on and lead independently software engineering initiatives.

Primarily, you solve problems. You're a hands on Lead Javascript Engineer with excellent non relational DB experience, cloud development experience that is looking to take the next step.

• WFH / Work from home with offices in the Sydney CBD. At this point, staff come into the office 1-2 days a week when they would like. Work where you work best
• Mature engineering environment with clear roadmaps presented by the business to ensure continued cutting edge engineering practices

Duties

• Provide thought leadership on best software engineering practices to ensure technology practice remains cutting edge
• Mentoring and coaching engineers
• Foster a product thinking mind-set when designing solutions to meet business requirements
• Ensure delivery timelines are met, being sure to provide accurate time assessments to product management
• Independently lead engineers and report in to the business stakeholders

Skills and experience

• Previous experience as a Full Stack Developer in Node and React. IF your experience is primarily one way or another
• Cloud (AWS) Experience is highly advantageous
• Microservices experience is highly advantageous
• Proven experience leading engineers. If that's in an informal capacity - AKA you're a Senior Software Engineer that lead a POC that was picked up by the business and you lead that initiative, that's what we want to see
• Strong design and architectural understanding and experience
• Experience working with Product Owners and BAs. Examples of when you've provided advice that is contrary to the direction that Product wants to go which has lead to positive changes in the engineering team and the product itself
