Lead Engineer – Network Optimisation
Reporting to the Technical Specialist - Asset Strategy, you will work across the business to implement key initiatives
to enhance CHW’s asset management practices and optimise our comprehensive water and wastewater networks.

Purpose
This position is responsible for delivering and driving development and implementation of key initiatives to optimise
CHW’s asset management practices with a specific focus on water, wastewater and recycled water networks.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Asset Management Optimisation
- Lead key internal stakeholder groups to develop innovative solutions to complex business problems relating
- Determine and recommend optimal solutions to complex business problems.
- Partner with the ICT Team to implement workable solutions to IT system related problems.
- Offer thought leadership and a problem-solving mentality regarding effective methods to capture, store and

- Provide ongoing technical leadership and oversight of a complex program of technical projects and assure
- Assist with the development of tools, processes for asset management systems in conjunction with key
- Co-ordinate asset condition inspections in line with Asset Management Plans with direct liaison from CHW’s

- Accountable for seeking efficiencies through implementation of new technologies or alternative
- Accountable for developing solutions for asset maintenance issues (with CHW’s Network Asset
- Assurance and Compliance support (Audits, Asset Life Updates etc.)
- Co-ordinate asset condition inspections in line with Asset Management Plans with direct liaison from the

- Knowledge of engineering and operational complexities of water / sewerage / recycled water, including
- Experience of asset management in Utilities relating to large and medium scale infrastructure assets.
- Ability to critically explore and analyse options to evaluate consequences of different risk scenarios and
- Experience with standard office IT systems (MS Office, GIS, Asset Management Information Systems

. Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field such as Engineering, Project Management, Science or
- Demonstrated working knowledge of asset and change management practices, comprehensive
- Demonstrated experience in delivering best practice asset management programs.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated asset management or related water industry experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of core asset management risk concepts, such as asset criticality and
