Centres for Learning and Wellbeing have been established to provide valuable professional learning and capability development for rural and remote teachers and school leaders at all stages of their careers. The centres also support the wellbeing of staff and assist in the facilitation of inter-agency support for students and their families.

About the Role
As the Lead Principal Education Officer, Centre for Learning and Wellbeing, you will:
- Manage and oversee the activities and resources of the Centre for Learning and Wellbeing to ensure the effective development and delivery of high quality professional learning for staff and school leaders serviced by the Centre.
- Develop the capability of school leaders and aspiring school leaders serviced by the Centre for Learning and Wellbeing, to ensure they are equipped with the appropriate leadership capabilities to enable them to successfully deliver on the vision of the Department of Education and Training.
- Oversee the wellbeing support provided to students, families and staff through the Centre for Learning and Wellbeing.
Your Opportunity
Your responsibilies include, but are not limited to:
- Develop close working relationships and partnerships with community organisations and agencies to ensure effective cross government support for student and staff wellbeing.
- Develop and monitor plans for the delivery of professional learning and expert advice to school leaders, aspiring school leaders and staff to improve teaching quality and support student and staff wellbeing.
- Facilitating and provide on the job peer support and mentoring to school leaders and aspiring school leaders to develop their leadership capabilities.
- Provide high level coaching, mentoring and support to school leaders with a particular focus on pedagogical practices, best teaching practice and curriculum leadership that enhances and improves school performance and capability.
- Assist beginning school leaders in building capabilities, ensuring all students have access to quality school programs that align curriculum, assessment and reporting, ensuring the implementation of quality teaching and learning practices across schools in a positive learning climate.
- You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award – State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
- Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 7.4 of the Department of Education State School Teachers Certified Agreement 2019.
- Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information please
