Role
Work in a team that manage and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems (IDS / IPS), Denial of Service (DoS) protection systems across the organisation.
Work collaboratively with other teams and third parties as required to improve overall network security posture.
Review proposed network infrastructure changes to maintain a high level of security integrity.
SME for network security in the Security Operations team.
Continually reviewing the current network security posture ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
Contribute to technical design and document processes relating to network security.
Preferred skills and experience
A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a network security role
Must have had a previous hands-on role in managing and delivering network security technologies.
Must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo clearance for Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP).
Experience of working with third parties and various stakeholders in a large complex environment.
Experience with implementing and managing threat detection and prevention controls such as DoS protection, WAF, IDS & IPS systems.
Design and operation experience working on Next Generation firewalls with Unified Threat Management (UTM) capabilities.
Knowledge of protocols such as 802.1q, 802.1x, 802.11, LDAP, RADIUS, SNMP, TACACS+
In-depth understanding and knowledge of communication and routing protocols
Expert level knowledge of best practises in design of enterprise network and security architectures covering WAN, LAN, Wireless, Internet.
Expert level knowledge of networking fundamentals, supported with a strong understanding of protocols across all layers of the OSI model.
Outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.
Great awareness of cybersecurity trends.
Knowledge of cloud security, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) and Security Information & Events Management (SIEM) tool.
