About the RoleReporting to Program Lead Maintenance, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Team. As the
Leading Hand Civil (Coxswain) you will be responsible for: providing field leadership and technical guidance to crews for delivery of civil asset management maintenance and project works on Melbourne Water's Waterways, Drainage and Land assets.
- Working with and providing in field oversight of crews undertaking various on-ground activities.
- Day to day supervision of team members. Leading by example, mentoring and coaching team members effectively.
- Accountable for meeting specified quality, timeliness, budgetary and compliance requirements.
- Successful delivery of Civil maintenance and project activities across a geographical area of Melbourne Water's Waterways and Land assets - this includes boat and barge work within Patterson Lakes.
- This role would demand Coxswain experience / accreditation.
- Valid Driver's Licence as this role requires occasional travel.
- Help to foster a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.

- You have Grade 3 Coxswain Certification.
- Demonstrated experience and capabilities working with and leading crews in a maintenance environment.
- Great people leadership capabilities, ability to coach and mentor staff.
- Ability to take responsibility for own role in ensuring the safety of all team members and other personnel on site.
- Problem solving skills, including the ability to deliver the appropriate outcomes.
- Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people both within Melbourne Water, external organisations and with the general public.
- Ability to work and contribute to a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.

An operational work vehicle will be used to attend sites.
