About the Opportunity
Your role as a Leading Hand Plant Operator - Collection Services is to provide efficient waste management services in the local Community.
In this role, you will be responsible for the collection of wheelie bins from residential and commercial premises, as well as, the distribution of wheelie bins for new services, replacement and repair of damaged wheelie bins. This role will require you to have the ability to work public holidays and out of normal hours including weekends and On Call.
About You
- You hold a current 'HR' licence and "C" Class Licence (Forklift Operator Ticket & HC Licence would be highly regarded)
- Substantial experience in operating a truck mounted waste compaction unit and bin lifting mechanism
- Experience in the supervision of staff and coordination of equipment within waste management or a similar industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of both single and dual axle trucks, including pre-start checks and essential basic maintenance
- Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills to record and report information and follow written instructions
- Good customer service and conflict resolutions skills
- Strong knowledge of the Bundaberg region, with the ability to learn and follow predetermined collection routes
- The ability to work in a team environment to ensure team objectives are successfully achieved
