The role:
Our Asphalt Specialty Products team based in Seven Hills are currently seeking a Leading Hand to join the organisation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational and HSE improvements, while leading a small team.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Plans work to ensure customer needs are met, ensures operational delivery of plan each day/week.
- Mentor / coach team members to develop a multi skilled high functioning team.
- Lead day to day safety culture while identifying and driving improvements.
- Carry out routine inspections and organise maintenance of all plant and equipment.
- Review and implement procedures for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the Specialty Products equipment.
- Maintain stocks of all packaging materials and finished goods, while working to optimise warehousing space.
- Management of maintenance contractors as required.
- Managing inventory daily, transferring raw materials to finished product.
- As required operation of FEL and Forklift.
- As required produce & load bulk and packaged products.
- Previous manufacturing industry experience or equivalent role experience
- Well-developed knowledge of workplace safety
- Leads from the front and constantly seeks improvement
- Ability to create a team mentality
- Forklift licence and FEL competency desirable
- Experience with fixed plant operation would be preferred
- Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills
