Learn to Swim Supervisor

This position is Permanent Part-time for 18 hours per week from Thursday to Saturday with the opportunity to work up to 35 hours per week to cover leave periods. Salary from $39.47 per hour plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid NSW Working With Children Check. Applicants are required to provide a NSW Working with Children Check application/clearance reference number to their application.

About the role

Wollongong City Council has a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, positive, and proactive individual with a passion for delivering outstanding and professional Learn to Swim and Aquatic Programs to join our amazing Aquatic Services Team.

The Learn to Swim Supervisor's key role will be the planning, delivery and evaluation of all swim education programs. Overseeing all swimming programs, ensuring efficient and effective operations with a high level of customer service to the Aquatic Centre's users.

What you will be doing:

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Welcome and assist customers poolside
  • Assist with the review and delivery of Swim School Program and provide guidance to staff at site level (including Operations Manager, Aquatics Supervisors and Instructors, to ensure the delivery of a safe and high-quality program).
  • Conduct assessments for new and current participants
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Coordinate program administration, including procedures, records and customer information.
  • Provide a high level of customer service, including dealing with conflict and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance to a class consolidation and occupancy rate of no less than 85% in all classes.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual Unit and Operational Plans

  • A current Working with Children Check and Police Check

  • Austswim or Swim Australia Qualification or Equivalent
