Job description
Ruah aims to promote measures to achieve equality. Section 51 of the Equal opportunity Act applies to this role.
Our mission is open hearts and bold strides.
Ruah Community Services has been supporting and empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged people to create positive change in their lives for more than 60 years – leading innovation and delivering tailored, wrap-around support for people experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence, mental health challenges and, as a result, needing legal advice and support.
We have an exciting new opportunity to work as a Learning Support Coordinator in Ruah’s Mental Health and Wellness team.
The Learning Support Coordinator position involves two key roles, one is the role of a Support Coordinator for 2 days per week and the second role is focused on learning and development coordination, for 3 days a week. The idea to have a client load ensures that the person filling the position maintains their relevance to client work, which then supports the learning and development aspect of the role.
The Support Coordination role focuses on providing client facing recovery support interventions. Supported by the Team Lead, you will play an important role in improving the health and social wellbeing, housing, quality of life or clients, maximising self-management, independence, and participation in the community.
The role requires advocating with and on behalf of the client to meet wider social, health and well-being needs. You will be responsible for undertaking tasks that support case management, documentation, referrals, and appointments.
The Learning and Development aspect of the role will coordinator and support the development and delivery of learning and development opportunities for staff in the Mental Health and Wellness Service Area. This is a full time, permanent position, based in the Perth Metro area.
