Lecturer - Bachelor of International Public Health program
The School of Population Health is a leader in education in public health, global health and health leadership and management. The primary purpose of this new position is to support the development and teaching of courses in the Bachelor of International Public Health (BIPH) program, which is delivered by the School of Population Health. The BIPH is a three-year degree that provides students with an understanding of the key issues impacting the health of Australian and international populations and supports the development of in-demand job skills needed to design, develop, and implement solutions to these global challenges and to ensure that they have social impact.
About the role
- 3-Year Fixed Term, Full Time (35 hrs/week) opportunity
- $112K - $132K base (plus 17% Superannuation & leave loading)
- Full working rights will be required for the duration of the contract.
- Sydney, Australia based.
The Lecturer will have experience across a range of specialty areas in public health including noncommunicable diseases, program evaluation, public health advocacy, who can contribute to postgraduate and undergraduate teaching. A Lecturer is expected to carry out activities to develop their scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally and to contribute significantly to achieving the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
