About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal services and advice in relation to all of ASC’s business activities, to assist the business effectively manage legal risk and ensure legal compliance.
This role sits within a corporate function, this role will review and provide advice on contracts for the procurement of goods and services and other commercial contracts.
Responsibilities
- Research and provide advice and support to various areas of the business in relation to legal issues
- Maintain and update precedents and templates while also reviewing reports, presentations and papers
- Assist senior legal team members with instructing/briefing of external lawyers
- Draft NDAs and CDPs and prepare Australian and foreign import and export licenses and permits, end user/delivery verification certificates, non-disclosure undertakings and assurances
About You
- Bachelor of Laws, Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (or equivalent) and be admitted to practice law in South Australia
- Excellent verbal communication and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to work autonomously, influence and engage with multiple stakeholders across the business.
- A minimum of 3 years’ post admission experience (preferably in private practice or some in-house legal experience)
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
