Your Key Accountabilities will include:
Provide high level, accurate word processing using digital dictation software;Assist in the preparation of a range of documents including briefs for Counsel, legal correspondence and/or material for provision to Courts and Tribunals, including research, formatting and proof-reading;Coordinate the flow of correspondence and other records through the Office, including retention and disposal and status updates utilising relevant information management systems;File documents in various Courts, Tribunals and Commissions including the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates, District, Supreme and High Courts;Actively monitor the payment of legal expenses, costs orders and Counsel fees including liaising with courts and internal clients;Provide reception and secretarial support to the office including coordinating travel (including expenses), organising meetings, taking minutes and managing incoming calls and visitors;Advise and consult with internal and external clients on office administrative procedures and requests, including legally privileged, confidential and sensitive issues;Assist with the induction of new staff within the Office and train and mentor other Legal Support Officers;Contribute to the development, maintenance and review of office systems and procedures, including information management systems and whole-of-practice issues.
