Level 2 Network Support Engineer

Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Level 2 Network Support Engineer with a solid background in network security troubleshooting and support to join our team in Perth, Australia.  

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to advance into a Level 3 Engineer role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working with Fortinet products, particularly Fortimanager, Fortianalyser, and Fortinet firewalls, with a focus on SDWAN and FortiSASE technologies.  

Exposure to FortiSIEM, scripting, and automation experience would be highly advantageous. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• - Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for network security issues, focusing on Fortinet products such as Fortimanager, Fortianalyser, and Fortinet firewalls. 
• - Collaborate closely with Level 3 engineers and consultants to resolve complex technical issues and implement solutions. 
• - Operate autonomously to investigate and resolve Level 2 support tickets within agreed SLA timelines. 
• - Mentor and provide guidance to Level 1 team members, assisting them with technical escalations and skill development. 
• - Contribute to the development and enhancement of support processes and documentation. 
• - Participate in on-call rotation schedules to provide after-hours support when necessary. 

Requirements: 

• - Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security troubleshooting and support, with a focus on Fortinet products. 
• - In-depth understanding of Fortimanager, Fortianalyser, and Fortinet firewalls, with experience in SDWAN and FortiSASE technologies. 
• - Solid knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols is essential 
• - Exposure to FortiSIEM and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell would be highly beneficial. 
• - Proven ability to operate autonomously and efficiently manage workload priorities. 
• - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. 
• - Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues. 
• - Relevant industry certifications such as Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) or equivalent would be advantageous.
