Come and join our Travelling Crew who are based in Townsville. We have permanent opportunities available for a Linesperson or Electrical Fitter Mechanic to join the team and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.
The Role
As a Linesperson you will:
Construct, maintain and repair overhead, high and low voltage electrical distribution and sub-transmission systems, street lighting mains and customer service lines.
Be trade qualified with a Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Linesperson.
Perform live line methodology on Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) networks.
Operate within Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) requirements for quality, safety and risk assessment compliance.
As an Electrical Fitter Mechanic, you will:
Install, repair, commission and maintain various items of electrical equipment and plant.
Be trade qualified with a Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic licence.
Operate within Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) requirements for quality, safety and risk assessment compliance.
Critical to your success in each of these roles is your:
Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network.
Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations.
Willingness to travel across broader Queensland to assist with emergency work.
Current ‘C’ class open Drives Licence.

Applicants must be prepared to work away from home as regular travel throughout Northern Queensland is required to support the delivery of the Lines Construction and Maintenance Program of Work.
This role will be on a 9-day fortnight; however, applicants must be prepared to work on a 10-day on / 4 day off fortnightly roster and work a reasonable amount of overtime as required.
Annual salary starting from $98k + Super + Applicable Allowances.
External applicants are required to complete a pre-employment medical.
About You
You are highly motivated, have the right qualifications, are a great team player with the ability to build positive relationships and be part of a diverse and inclusive team working together to deliver outstanding outcomes.
Your background in a heavy industry with electrical and/or mechanical field experience is preferred.
