Alstom, a pioneer in sustainable mobility solutions, is actively seeking a committed Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the West Melbourne site. As a crucial member of our organisation, you will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating logistical operations to ensure the smooth flow of materials and supplies within our facility.

Description

You are in charge of executing physical flows of the goods (purchased and manufactured items): reception, putaway, storage, picking and line feeding, packing, shipping, inventory control, cycle counting and materials handling. Your target is to align physical and systems flows in a safe, timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  2. Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to support production schedules.
  3. Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to optimize transportation routes and reduce costs.
  4. Implement and maintain logistics processes and procedures to uphold quality and safety standards.
  5. Utilize ERP systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports.
  6. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and quality assurance, to address logistical challenges and enhance operational efficiency.
  7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to transportation and logistics.
  8. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  9. Provide assistance during audits and contribute to maintaining accurate documentation.

Profile

* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience in logistics coordination, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritise tasks.
* Familiarity with transportation regulations and industry best practices is advantageous.
