About the role


Based at our Surry Hills Office, you will be reporting to our eCom Last Mile Business Development Manager. You will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting our capability across the Last Mile Commercial, Contracts & Operations Teams with a goal of delivering exceptional customer experiences whilst meeting key operational KPIs within group financial targets.


This role involves the delivery of commercial analytics. It will stare into our logistics and asset rate cards and understand the relationships between activity and costs. The role will simplify complex financial models and turn data insights into actions. The role will develop new analytical models to support our home delivery and crowd operations while maintaining expense tracking against budget.


Applying an Agile mindset, the role will work with the Last Mile squads and project teams to ensure activities are delivered as effectively & efficiently as possible.

You will travel to other Woolies offices/sites, such as Norwest, as well as partner locations on a regular basis.

We operate in the Last Mile, the final link between our retail network and the end consumer with a focus on delivering an exceptional home delivery experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the ecom teams in the day-to-day management of our partnerships with a focus on commercial performance
  • Development, recommendation, and embedment of end-to-end process & procedures with Last Mile Initiatives.
  • Build and maintain commercial models to support the last mile
  • Identify areas of opportunity through analysis and present insights to drive action
  • Participation in operational and commercial business cases with accurate analytical support
  • Positive engagement and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in delivery of initiatives and BAU change
  • To support the direction of Last Mile initiatives and BAU activities to deliver ongoing improvement to operational outcomes: capability, efficiency, accountability, reporting, process and morale.

About you

  • Experience in a similar role ideally with a background in retail, supply chain or FMCG
  • Advanced analytics skills in data platforms
  • Effective data presentation skills, willingness to organize and display data for C-suite review
  • Knowledge of or the ability to build an in depth understanding of eCom systems and processes
  • Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience in the creation of complex logistics cost and service modelling
  • Previous experience in supply chain is advantageous
  • An ability to work in an autonomous and self-directing environment with effective time management skills
  • Naturally curious, with a friendly, engaging and flexible style
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced tech driven environment
  • Willingness to adopt and expand skills, promote and contribute to new technology discovery and platform adoption
  • Customer focused and results driven
