Logistics and Expediting Co-ordinator

Who are we

We are a family-owned company based in Wangara, supplying metal products and welding consumables into the Australian market with multiple offices across Australia.

The Position

A large percentage of our activities involve continuous communication with international & local manufacturers and logistics companies.  A person with an import, export and logistics background will be best suited to this fast-paced role.  This is a permanent part-time role with flexible working hours of 5-6 hours per day on-site, 3 - 5 days per week.

Key Duties

Some key duties will include:

• Forward logistics planning to improve delivery performance against first promised date to customers.
• Liaise with overseas manufacturers to track order progress with forecast completion and delivery.
• Manage information flow to ensure internal and external stakeholders ensuring they are fully informed.
• Expedite and track all shipments, with a focus on customer orders.
• Providing ETA status updates to customers and the sales team.
• Management of stock levels with the accounts function and customers. 
• Ensure that all operational and administration tasks are completed accurately and on time (follow up internally on CRM tasks).
• Work with manufacturers to ensure certification and other requirements are met.
• Weekly reporting to the sales team on order status.

Skill Set

• Experience with internal sales, Logistics and Expediting is a must.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Analytical thinker with a focus on efficiency savings.
• Highly motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail.
