Title: Logistics Supervisor
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue's strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Logistics Warehouse Manager, we are presently looking for Logistics Supervisor
Key accountabilities will include:
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organisation
- Develop processes and training to enable Logistics Coordinator activities.
- Accurately input and capture data & scheduling information into transport management systems, analyse trends and recommend improvements.
- Verify that all shipments (road and air) comply with the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and other transport statutory regulations.
- Develop delivery schedules and drop shipment strategies
- Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel.
- Critical Thinking: Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to freight problems.
- Complex Problem Solving: Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement a solution concerning transport requirements.
- System Evaluation: Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance that are relative to the goals of the system
- Decision Making: Excellent decision-making skills to be able to consider the relative cost and benefits of potential actions to decide on the best one
- Communication Skill: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively negotiate with carriers, suppliers, custom brokers, and customers
- Have an exceptional understanding of both National and International freight requirements.
