Rozelle Child Care Centre is a Community Based Long Day Care Centre in the Inner West, situated within the beautiful heritage grounds of Callan Park. The benefits of a not for profit community based child care centre is that the parents form a voluntary committee, with input into decision making and policies that affect the care and education of their children. Parents work in partnership with the Directors, staff and families to maintain high quality early education and offer a higher staff to child ratio than is required. This is a well-established non-profit organisation with any profits used to enhance the centre in providing a rich educational program. The focus is on utilising the space and environment, the abundance of resources and IT technology when following on children’s interests in planning and programming.
The centre caters for 56 children daily and operates between the hours of 7.15am and 6:00pm.
About the role:
This position is for an enthusiastic, energetic early childhood educator to work with the 2-3 year age group, on a part time basis, 3 days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday within a team of 4 staff (inclusive).
You will be responsible for: Implementing the National Quality Framework; Early Years Learning Framework and service policies and procedures in collaboration with your team. You will contribute to planning for the children, writing newsfeeds/daily journals and evaluating the program in collaboration with your team on social groups and the individual child. Essential Criteria:
A Certificate III or Diploma of Children's Services
Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
Experience in the Early Childhood Field, in particular with the 2-3 year age group
The ability to work well in a team and to adapt to new situations
Knowledge of the development and implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Experience in IT technology required for documentation
Commitment towards the centre's goals, philosophy and vision
Motivation and passion for children’s wellbeing and education
Excellent personal presentation and a professional approach to early childhood education and care and its stakeholders
An understanding of NSW Children's Services Regulation and National Quality Framework and Standards
