We are looking for self-motivated experienced Machine Operators to join our manufacturing facility in Crestmead.
This position requires a minimum of 38 hours per week, plus overtime as required.
The Role:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Machine Operator's primary focus is to:
- Adjust and correct machine set-ups to reshape products and eliminate product defects.
- Monitor machine cycles to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications.
- Examines, inspects, and measures raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Follows work orders, and determines setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
- Feeds Colorbond sheets that automatically feeds into rollers.
- Positions, aligns, and secures arbors, spindles, coils, mandrels, dies, and slitting knives.
- Changes rolls, operates mill equipment, removes coils and cobbles, and band and loads materials.
Skills and Experience:
- Forklift licence
- The Machine Operators needs knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Colorbond raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Basic mathematics, tolerances and the use of Vernier measurements.
- Basic start up checks.
- Understand routine maintenance required on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- The ability to determine causes of operating errors and decides what to do about it.
- Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
