Here at Lactalis, we have over 2,200 passionate employees across 14 locations, working closely with our farmers, customers and consumers to produce the finest dairy products in the country. We manufacture brands such as Paul’s, OAK, Ice Break, Tamar Valley Dairy, Vaalia, President and Galbani, and have recently acquired the Jalna Yoghurt site in Thomastown.
About this Opportunity
Due to operational increases and the creation of a new shift, we are seeking two qualified and experienced Electricians to join our team based at our Jalna Yoghurt site in Thomastown. We have opportunities across both afternoon shift and night shift. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance across the site. This will include the servicing and repair of production, processing and packaging areas, covering the entire manufacturing process within our yoghurt manufacturing site.
You will have a methodical approach to problem solving, as well as excellent communication skills across all operational levels. You will be self-motivated and have the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision to complete your duties. You must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing work environment where prioritising tasks is critical.
Key responsibilities of role include:
Strong focus on safety and safe working methods
Implementing preventative and routine maintenance schedules to achieve machine and line efficiency;
Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise downtime;
Monitor and contribute to developing new maintenance schedules for equipment, plant and other relevant data to identify faults and take action as necessary;
Performing scheduled and ad-hoc safety checks as per instructions;
Investigating failures and making recommendations to reduce risk and improve systems / processes;
Prioritise workload by focusing on critical fixes
To be considered for this position, you will require a relevant electrical trade qualification, and previous experience in the food, dairy, packaging or process-related industries will be favorable. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must also have knowledge and skills in the following:
Electrical experience;
Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills;
Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
Solid knowledge and focus on quality;
Knowledge of GMP, ideally within the food industry;
