About our Role
Simplot Australia are seeking applications from suitably certified and experienced candidates for the role of Maintenance Electrician to work as part of our Engineering Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis at our Bathurst (Llanarth) plant. This position will commence on a 5 day Mon-Fri roster, with the need to provide coverage on a 12 hour rotating roster (day / night) for leave / long term absence coverage + shutdown activities as required.
Our Bathurst (Llanarth) plant processes and produces a wide range of quality canned & frozen vegetables in addition to our famous snack lines such as Chiko Roll and Cornjack. We have been a part of the Bathurst community for generations, and with a large investment taking place at our plant over the coming 24 months, this is a great time to join the Simplot team.
Ordinary base hourly rates range from $39.84 to $41.65 (based on qualifications & experience) + shift loadings, penalties and allowances (where applicable). A fully supplied and laundered uniform + boots & PPE are provided as part of this role.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, duties will include (but are not limited to the following);
- Ensure fixed plant and equipment is maintained as per the maintenance schedule whilst maintaining safety and maximising production requirements
- PLC and electrically controlled systems diagnostics, fault finding, programming and connections
- Working in conjunction with other on-site trades (mechanical fitters + contractors) + production staff to ensure scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities are completed to a high standard of quality with a focus on safety
- Participating in continual improvement processes
- Application of operational standards and procedures
- Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
- Hold a Cert III Electrotechnology (or equivalent) + NSW electrical licence - mandatory
- Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and trouble shooting skills
- Experience with fixed plant electrical works
- Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret schematics (advantageous)
- Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated maintenance experience within an FMCG industry plant (highly desirable but not essential)
- Sound judgment and decision making ability
- Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills
- Intermediate user of Windows-based systems and software
- Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to contribute to a team environment
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening
