About the role
Opportunity to earn a rate of up to $50 per hour and additional earnings with overtime hours
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and based out of our site at Portland we’re seeking a permanent Fitter &Turner/ Machinist with welding experience to join the team, with responsibility for a broad range of mechanical servicing, maintenance, installations and upgrades of fixed and mobile plant and equipment. This role will have some travel throughout the year and assist in managing shutdowns.
Specifically, you’ll be responsible for:
• Fault finding and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Attending sites outside of normal hours (as directed) where equipment failure or breakdowns occur
• Preparing and submitting maintenance reports as requested
• Record keeping for compliance.
About your experience
Our ideal candidate has a relevant trade certificate in mechanical, fitting and turning, boiler maker or similar. You will have proven fault-finding capabilities and be proactive and safety focused. Computer literate, self-motivated and reliable, you’ll have solid time management abilities and a high standard of communication.
The ability to work at heights and within confined spaces is required. A MR licence would be preferred, but not essential.
