About the role
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Officer - Mechanical to join our maintenance team in a well-established role based in Gladstone and across our Port Pirie group. You will have the opportunity to use your mechanical skills to ensure fixed and mobile plant and equipment remains available for operational requirements. In addition, you will also be involved in maintenance planning and will support maintenance and engineering projects. Some on-call and shift work will be required.
Duties
- Participate in the development and implementation of annual maintenance plans
- Fault finding and repairs for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and pneumatic systems
- Respond to equipment failures and breakdowns and assist in developing proactive solution to prevent similar issues occurring in the future
- Identify potential future maintenance or capital upgrade projects
- Contractor management and permits to work
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports
- Take part in the maintenance on call roster
- Trade Certificate – mechanical, fitting and fabrication all considered
- Knowledge of bearing technology and lubrication techniques
- Competent in interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
- Knowledge and experience with installation, commissioning and fault finding of diesel, hydraulic and pneumatic installations an advantage
- Ability to work at heights and within confined and restricted spaces
- Current drivers licence is essential
- A forklift license is desirable
