Role Description

Eligibility

To be eligible for the role candidates must have:

• A relevant certificate III qualification or higher.
• Accreditation to administer medication.
• A valid Australian driver’s license and their own vehicle (Note: please DO NOT apply for this role if you do not have an Australian driver’s license and a car).
• Eligibility to work in Australia (i.e., have Australian citizenship or hold a valid visa with work entitlements)
• At least 12 months paid experience working as a disability support worker or personal care worker.
• A current: first aid certificate, CPR certificate, police clearance, WWC check & NDIS check.
• Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
• An up-to-date resume.

Duties

• Direct patient care including assisting patients with their personal care, domestic needs, mobility, meal preparation, and communication needs.
• Driving a small disability van to transport patients to appointments and scheduled activities (as needed - not essential).
• Assisting with the administration of medication.
• Providing mental stimulation to residents and engaging in various fun recreational activities.
• Working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Light cleaning duties.
