The Environment and Heritage Group is currently seeking to appoint a Manager Business Advisory to our Group Finance Division.
The Manager Business Advisory is responsible for managing a small specialist team in the delivery of business and financial advisory services for the divisions within the Environment and Heritage Group, including internal budgeting and forecasting, labour analytics, capital reporting and planning, divisional management reporting, business case development and development of risk and savings plans. The Manager Business Advisory delivers this finance business partnering services to the Executive in their allocated client Division/s.
About you
To be successful in the role, ideally you will have the following abilities:
- Lead and develop staff and provide direction to encourage continuing professional development and a culture where staff are committed to service delivery and the success of the business.
- Manage the development and monitoring of divisional operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts and forward estimates to meet existing budgetary and financial requirements and commitments.
- Provide performance reporting and high-level critical analysis and specialist advice on financial results, divisional initiatives and projects and related issues to Senior Executive.
- Collaborate with the divisions, at a Senior Executive level, in developing strategies to manage budget variances and provide advice regarding the commercial viability/impact on net cost of services.
- Provide strategic advisory services to divisional management on the drivers affecting the financial and budgetary position of the relevant division, branch and cost centres, and support in setting and monitoring savings targets to ensure the Department’s savings targets are achieved.
- Undertake review and analysis of Divisional business cases, funding submissions and provide recommendations relating to allocation of funds.
- Work closely with Corporate Services to establish and maintain effective financial management systems and controls relevant to the division and lead financial and business reviews to improve and strengthen internal business processes and financial sustainability controls and solutions.
- Identify and deliver finance and related initiatives in partnership with other stakeholders and teams to build performance that supports people and business objectives.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and demonstrated experience in a senior finance and business advisory role.
