About the Role

In this newly created role, we are seeking a Manager Cloud Strategy to join the BHP Technology Strategy, Portfolio & Performance team. This role is critical to lead a team focused on the technology strategy required to deliver BHP’s digital transformation. 

  • Translates emerging technologies, user and global business requirements into cloud focused technology strategies and solutions to meet current and future needs.   
  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of BHP’s cloud strategy to adopt advanced cloud capabilities for improved productivity and value.   
  • Provides technology thought leadership on cloud technologies, current and emerging. 
  • Considers, defines and documents the BHP cloud platform preferred positions including application of Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, Data architectures and services, Multicloud, Edge, FinOps.  
  • Works across diverse technology teams in business, asset and group technology teams to develop strategy, preferred solutions and gain endorsement.   
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.   

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following: 

  • Experienced Cloud Architect in enterprise sized organisation. 
  • Experienced in advisory and/or consultative development of architectures and strategies across matrixed organisations. 
  • Experience across multiple cloud vendors.   
  • Experience leading small technical teams to develop architectures.   
  • Experience in diverse Stakeholder management.   
  • Relevant undergraduate qualifications in a technical discipline, preferably Engineering or Technology/IT and cloud certification.
