Principal responsibilities of this role
Local Housing Action Plans are a commitment under the Queensland Housing and Homelessness Action Plan 2021-2025, and aim to identify needs, solutions and help coordinate responses to rural and remote community housing challenges. It is the role of the Manager, Engagement and Planning to:
- Undertake research and analysis, including complex business analysis, of housing issues to inform briefing materials and prepare Executive correspondence.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with key project stakeholders and data custodians, including state agencies, local governments, infrastructure agencies, industry peak bodies, technical experts and developers.
- Coordinate, lead and attend meetings, forums, committees and negotiations with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop solutions to improve the availability, diversity and quality of housing in regional areas through the implementation of Local Housing Action Plans.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to government about the implications of policy changes identified to respond to supply and demand issues.
- Work collaboratively with senior management, project teams, state agencies and external stakeholders to ensure housing outcomes are achieved.
- Effectively manage projects at a high level, utilising and implementing the Agile project management methodology.
- Provide professional, expert and timely advice to inform strategy, direction and generation of solutions to complex problems.
- Support and help to maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
